Training through Virtual Reality Tools
Future of Skill Development Training through Virtual Reality Software and Videos!!
Yes, the virtual reality software gives an environment to the learner to experience the actual working environment. After COVID 19 effect the education sector will see prominent change in usage of technology for training purpose. For technical or non-technical trades theory part can be delivered through videos, pre-uploaded on YouTube.
Theory:
- Physical presence of trainer and trainee is not required – enrolled students can learn theory part at their place only.
- As the videos of theory part will be developed by respective sector skill council of country or allied countries, this will create standardization of training throughout the nations.
- All the theory video to be uploaded on YouTube, let anybody acquire theory skills.
- Any queries and questions can be asked on chat box.
Practical:
- Demonstration of practical part can be shown through videos by an industry expert.
- Students can practice using simulator or virtual reality software; student can use tools, equipment, etc. in virtual environment.
- This will help candidates to acquire skill without damaging any real equipment or tools.
OJT:
- Training of all the technical trades can be mandated by compulsorily On the Job Training (OJT) hours.
- It will enable a student to experience actual working environment.
- There might be some job roles where one can join OJT directly after theory also.
Certification:
- Certification is required to acknowledge the acquired skills, can be done by respective Sector Skill Council.
- But if any candidate is not certified then also they can be called skilled and contribute in productivity of nation.
Cost:
- Investment on training should not be costly for any nation; it’s true the above proposed training mechanism is bit costly.
- If all the training content will be available on YouTube free of cost for each individual who wants to be skilled, it will create a pool of skilled manpower if not 100% skilled; semi-skilled can also acquire skill by practicing it in real work place (OJT).
- If productivity of current workforce is increased through free training modules available on YouTube and a pool of semi skilled employees is developed through training module; the cost incurred on developing above training modules can return increase in the productivity of country.
Cost Sharing:
- As the proposed training mechanism is rally costly, but at the same time it will standardize the training content for many countries.
- Like in India, other countries also have Skill Council and they might be facing same problem of huge costing in online training. We propose to form an international council for skill development in which content of online skilling for common trades to be developed by group countries; cost and content would be shared by all of them.
- There is a possibility of slight changes on content country to country which can be edited as per respective countries law.
